India is a land of extraordinary contrasts, where ancient traditions meet modern innovation, and natural wonders coexist with vibrant cities.
Bihar’s tribal population forms an important part of its cultural identity, especially in southern and western districts bordering Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
While the overall tribal population is smaller than in some other Indian states (around 1.3% of Bihar’s population), communities like Santhal, Oraon, Ho, Kharwar, Asur, and Birhor preserve distinct traditions, languages, and rituals that have existed for centuries.
These tribes are concentrated mainly in Jamui, Banka, Rohtas, Kaimur, Nawada, and Munger.
