Bihar is gradually emerging as a spice-producing state due to growing domestic and export demand.

Major Spices:

1. Turmeric (Haldi):
   • Grown in districts like Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, and Bhagalpur.
   • Known for high curcumin content and rich aroma.
2. Ginger (Adrak):
   • Produced mainly in hilly and upland areas (West Champaran, Kishanganj).
3. Garlic (Lehsun):
   • Cultivated in Nalanda, Patna, and Begusarai.
4. Chillies (Mirch):
   • Grown in parts of Gaya, Nalanda, and Rohtas.
5. Coriander & Cumin:
   • Smaller scale but expanding in South Bihar.
