Kharif Crops (Sown in June–July, harvested in October–November)

  • Paddy (Rice): Most dominant kharif crop; Punjab is one of the top rice-producing states.
  • Maize, Cotton, Bajra, Moong, Sugarcane also grown in select districts.

Rabi Crops (Sown in November–December, harvested in April–May)

  • Wheat: Punjab is the largest wheat producer in India.
  • Barley, Mustard, Gram, Lentils are also cultivated.

Zaid Crops (Summer Crops)

  • Include fruits, vegetables, and fodder crops like watermelon, cucumber, and cowpea.
