Tata Memorial Centre is a leading cancer hospital and research institution founded in 1941, originally as the Tata Memorial Hospital by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. It is one of the world's oldest and largest cancer centers, known for its comprehensive cancer care, high-quality training, and cutting-edge research. Administered by the Department of Atomic Energy since 1962, it is a benchmark for evidence-based cancer care accessible to all sections of society.

• Foundation and history: 

  The hospital was commissioned in 1941 by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust as a memorial to the Tata family's philanthropy. It merged with the Indian Cancer Research Institute in 1966, becoming the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC).

  The center is dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care, training, and research, and serves as a model for cancer care in India and globally.

  It offers state-of-the-art facilities with a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Eleven Disease Management Groups provide individualized, evidence-based treatment tailored to each patient's unique needs.

  TMC is a pioneer in cancer research, with a mandate for both basic and clinical research, and is a significant contributor to training the human resources needed for cancer care in India.

  The hospital treats a vast number of new cancer patients each year, with a focus on making care accessible to all. It has also developed facilities, such as hostels for patients' relatives, to support those traveling for treatment.
