Singtam, a peaceful town in East Sikkim, is well-connected by road and lies conveniently on the main highway between Siliguri and Gangtok. While it doesn’t have its own airport or railway station, Singtam is easily accessible via nearby hubs like Bagdogra Airport, New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station, and Pakyong Airport.

 

 By Air: Nearest Airports

1. Bagdogra Airport (IXB), West Bengal

  •  Distance: ~100 km
  •  Travel Time: 3.5–4.5 hours by road
  •  Well-connected to major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Bengaluru
  • Most preferred airport for travelers to Sikkim

 Tip: Book a taxi from Bagdogra to Singtam directly or via Rangpo.

 

2. Pakyong Airport (PYG), Sikkim (Limited flights)

  •  Distance: ~35 km
  •  Travel Time: 1.5–2 hours by road
  • Direct flights from Kolkata, Delhi, and Guwahati (weather-permitting)

 Note: Pakyong Airport is closer but has limited flight operations due to weather conditions.

 

 By Train: Nearest Railway Stations

1. New Jalpaiguri (NJP), West Bengal

  •  Distance: ~95 km
  •  Travel Time: 3.5–4.5 hours
  • Major station with trains from Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, and other metros

2. Siliguri Junction

  •  Distance: ~90 km
  • Good for short connections or budget travelers

 Tip: From NJP or Siliguri, take a private cab or shared jeep to Singtam via Rangpo.

 

 By Road: Direct Access to Singtam

 From Gangtok

  •  Distance: ~30 km
  •  Travel Time: ~1 hour
  • Route: Gangtok → Ranipool → Singtam (via NH-10)
  • Easily reachable by local taxis or shared jeeps

 From Siliguri/NJP/Bagdogra

  •  Distance: 90–100 km
  •  Travel Time: 4–5 hours
  • Route: Siliguri → Sevoke → Kalijhora → Rangpo → Singtam
  • Best option for travelers coming from the plains

 Public Transport Options

  • Shared Jeeps: Regular services from Siliguri, Rangpo, Gangtok
  • SNT Buses (Sikkim Nationalized Transport): Connect Singtam to Gangtok and nearby towns
  • Private Taxis: Available at all major transit hubs for direct drop

 Tip: Shared jeeps are budget-friendly, while private taxis offer comfort and flexibility.
