Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF) is a prominent Indian central public sector undertaking established on March 6, 1978, following the reorganization of the Fertilizer Corporation of India.   • Establishment & Growth: Formed in 1978, RCF has two primary manufacturing units located at Trombay (Mumbai) and Thal (Raigad), which were commissioned in 1965 (as part of FCI) and 1985 respectively.
  • Expansion: The Thal unit’s expansion in the 1980s significantly increased India's urea production capacity.
  • Diversification: Beyond urea, RCF pioneered complex fertilizers and a wide range of industrial chemicals, including methylamines and nitric acid.
