Incorporated on November 15, 1960, NBCC (India) Limited (formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited) is a premier Government of India Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Originally established to manage government infrastructure projects, NBCC has evolved into a leading player in project management consultancy (PMC), Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC), and real estate development. 

 

Key Historical Milestones:

  • 1960-1980s: Founded to construct institutions, offices, and infrastructure. In 1977, it started international operations in the Middle East and Africa.
  • 1999-2008: The company underwent restructuring, achieved ISO certification, became a debt-free company, and achieved positive net worth, marking a significant turnaround.
  • 2012: Achieved Navratna CPSE status and launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2012.
  • Recent Years: Undertaking large-scale projects like the redevelopment of New Delhi's Pragati Maidan, East Kidwai Nagar, and redevelopment of GPRA colonies (Netaji Nagar, Sarojini Nagar).
  • Expansion: Acquired Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL) in 2017 and Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Limited (HSCC) to diversify into steel and health infrastructure sectors. 

NBCC is now recognized for modernizing infrastructure, focusing on redevelopment, and implementing smart, sustainable building technologies.
