Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL)
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), established in 1774 in Mumbai, is a premier Indian defence shipyard under the Ministry of Defence, renowned for building warships and submarines. Originally a small dry dock, it became a public company in 1934, was nationalized in 1960, and achieved Navratna status in 2024, having delivered over 800 vessels.

- 18th Century Origins: Started as a small dry dock in 1774 to service British East India Company ships.
