PowerGrid Corporation of India (PGCIL)
Incorporated in October 1989 as the National Power Transmission Corporation Limited, the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) was established to manage and develop India's power transmission system. Renamed in 1992, it became a Maharatna company in 2019, operating the nation’s largest power transmission network, transmitting over 50% of total power generated in India.
